Introduction of Online Dispute Resolution Portal in the Indian Securities Market
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), through its circular no. SEBI/ HO/ OIAE/ OIAE_IAD1/ P/ CIR/ 2023/ 131 dated July 31, 2023 (updated on August 4, 2023), introduced a unified Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal for the securities market. To access the Circular Click Here
This initiative aims to simplify and standardize the dispute resolution framework by placing it under the Supervision of stock exchanges and depositories, collectively known as Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs). The scope of these institutions has been expanded to enable dispute resolution through a centralized digital system using online conciliation and arbitration.
The ODR platform, referred to as “SMART ODR”, can be accessed at: https://smartodr.in/login.
